The Cub Mini Wood Stove CB-1000 is our smallest non-certified stove, designed for recreational spaces under 200 sq. ft. with low ceilings and good insulation during spring and fall.

For winter use, poor insulation, or ceilings higher than 7 feet, we recommend the Grizzly Mini Wood Stove even when the space is under 200 sq. ft. Compare the models before planning your setup.

These stoves are not approved for residential installation. Speak with your insurer before purchasing or installing; recreational and residential insurance requirements differ. Confirm local requirements and follow the instructions for your exact model.

Features

  • Easy to install and easy to operate!
  • Secondary combustion system.
  • Removes humidity from the cabin.
  • The rail is easily removable.

Dimensions/Weight

  • Approximately 27 lb
  • Measures only 11" (Wide) x 12" (High) x 10.5" (Depth) ( 27.94 cm x 30.48 cm x 26.67 cm ).
  • If you remove the rail, you have a cooking area of 5" ( 12.7 cm ) from the flue to the edge of the plate and 11" ( 27.94 cm ) side to side.
  • Measurements for the interior firebox: 6" (Depth) x 7.375" (Wide) x 6.5" (Tall) (15.24 cm x 18.42 cm x 18.733 cm - 16.51 cm).

Fuel

  • Well seasoned hardwood and pressed logs are the best fuels to burn.
  • Ideally the wood should be cut to 5 3/4" ( 14.60 cm ) long.  It could be cut slightly longer. However 5 3/4" ( 14.60 cm ) allows for good airflow around the sides and it does not damage the insulation on the inside.

Output

  • 6000 BTU - 14, 000 BTU
  • 1.75 - 4.1 KWh

Specifics

  • Requires a horizontal clearance of 14" ( 35.56 cm ) on the sides and 16" ( 40.64 cm) at the front of the room heater, without shielding and a vertical clearance of 40" ( 101.6 cm ).
  • Underside of stove must be shielded at all times.
  • For this non-certified setup, measure 3-inch flue-pipe clearance from the outside surface of the pipe to the combustible surface: 9 inches without shielding, or 3 inches with proper flue shielding. Shield the entire pipe run alongside the wall. Keep at least 40 inches from the stove top to the surface above; shielding does not reduce this overhead requirement.
  • The stove needs a complete flue system comprising of 3"(7.62 cm) flue pipe, 5"(12.7 cm) insulated pipe and exit kit NOT INCLUDED

Material

  • 3/16" laser cut steel top plate.
  • 1/8" laser cut steel body.
  • 1/2" thick vermiculate firebrick insulation.
  • 3/16" thick self cleaning robax glass.
  • Brass plated coil handles.
