Metal

 

  • Locate the center of the hole for the pipe to exit
  • Create a 7” hole through ceiling and roof.
  • Place #2 on the stove for later use.
  • Pre-assemble #1 and #6. Fix together at the connection with screws. Slide #6 onto #1 so that it is insulated from the very tip of the flue pipe to 2" into the room. 
  • Install #1 and #6 assembly on stove.
  • Secure the pipe assembly to the roof with # 5
  • Install the Dektite flashing (As instructed by Deks)
  1. Trim cone to suit pipe size using sharp tin snips. DO NOT USE UTILITY KNIFE
  2. Slide down pipe using water as a lubricant.
  3. Apply High temp sealant by turning back the flexible aluminum base
  4. Press base to the roof profile by hand. Smooth out any awkward creases. Don’t fully extend to allow for vibration
  5. Fasten using self-sealing fastener or pop (sealed) rivets.
  6. Seal between the Dektite and the pipe with high temp sealant.

Boot Installation video

  • Install #2 and secure to #6 with screws.
  • Install #7 on #6, fix in place with screws.
  • Cover the gap between the hole and the pipe with #3
  • The pipes outside need to be braced if you have more than 3 feet of pipe. 

 

Shingled Roofs

  • Locate the center of the hole for the pipe to exit
  • Create a 7” through ceiling and roof.
  • Place #2 on the stove for later use.
  • Pre-assemble #1 and #6. Fix together at the connection with screws. Slide #6 onto #1 so that it is insulated from the very tip of the flue pipe to 2" into the room. 
  • Install #1 and #6 assembly on stove.
  • Secure the pipe assembly to the roof with # 5
  • Install the residential Masterlfash #1 as instructed by Aztec Washer Company 
  1. Use pliers to pull the tab for the correct pipe size.
  2. Finish the diameter by adjusting the flashing by hand
  3. Apply sealant on the bottom side of the metal base.
  4. Slide the flashing down the pipe.
  5. Cut shingles to fit to the top of the flashing allowing the bottom of the flashing metal base to set on top of tiles or shingles below the pipe
  6. Fasten the metal base using nails and a hammer.
  7. Install the tiles or shingles at the side over the flashing.
  8. Finish the installation of tiles or shingles
  9. Apply a stainless steel band or high temp sealant to assure tight fitting of the flashing against the pipe.
